Chunxi Road

Located at Jinjiang District, Chunxi Road covers approximately 20 hectares to the east of Beixin Street, south of Zongfu Road, west of Hongxing Road and north of Dongda Street and also includes Nanxin Street, Zhongxin Street and the areas facing those streets. Chunxi Road, a shopping heaven for foreign tourists and local middle class, features various branded boutiques and Chinese time-honoured stores. Within the commercial circle of Chunxi Road are also large shopping malls, hotels, etc.

Qintai Road

Qintai Road is named after Zhuo Wenjun and Sima Xiangru, a legendary couple in the Western Han Dynasty. With a length of 900 metres, the Road features structures imitating the styles in both the Han and the Tang Dynasties. You can experience the etiquette, music, dining and other customs of the Han Dynasty that are reproduced based on the love story of the famous couple. The recent renovation of the Road focused on creating a special area and integrating with surrounding environment.

Chengdu Happy Valley

Covering 507,000 square metres, Chengdu Happy Valley has more than 100 tourist sites within 8 major themed areas, including Sunshine Port, Happy Hour, Caribbean Cyclone, Sichuan Obsession, Flying Island, Magic Castle, Fly Over Mediterranean and Happy Light Year. There are 159 experiencing and sightseeing projects, including more than 54 recreation facilities, 58 manmade landscapes, 27 performing shows and 20 themed games as well as other commercial auxiliary facilities.

Tiexiang Temple Riverfront

As its name suggests, Tiexiang Temple Riverfront is next to the Tiexiang Temple, which was built at the 18th year of the Wan Calendar in the Ming Dynasty. Penetrated by the Xiaojia River flowing from South to North, the Riverfront has many ancient lanes and courtyards, old trees and lotus pools, reproducing Chengdu’s traditions of thousands of years, which feature Huilan Tower, Shigandang Stele and Stone Goat as well as ancient bridges, waterside pavilions, opera stages and memorial archways. China Lane

China Lane consists of three paralleled ancient urban lanes (Kuan Alley, Zhai Alley and Jing Alley) and many Chinese quadrangles (or Siheyuans) in-between. It is one of the three historic and cultural protection areas in Chengdu and was included into the Planning of Protection of the Historic and Cultural City of Chengdu in 1980s. The three-year renovation of the Alleys was completed in June 2008. The new alleys now have 45 Siheyuans featuring styles of later Qing Dynasty and earlier Republic of China. It also has buildings inspired by western art and culture, newly built courtyard-styled boutique hotels and other distinct architecture.

Jinli Street

Covering more than 30,000 square metres, Jinli Street is a part of the Chengdu Wuhou Shrine Museum, which consists of the Heritage Area of the Three Kingdoms, the Folklore Area of Jinli and the Western Area. Integrating sightseeing, shopping and entertainment, the Street features the architecture styles of western Sichuan in later Ming Dynasty and earlier Qing Dynasty, and has a vibe of the culture of the Three Kingdoms and the folkways of Chengdu.

Du Fu Thatched Cottage

Du Fu Thatched Cottage is a National Important Heritage Protection Site, a National AAAA-grade Tourist Area, a National 1st Grade Museum and a National Important Ancient Literature Protection Site. Covering more than 300 mu, the Cottage has three major memorial structures: the Grand Lobby, the Avenue of Poem, and Du Fu Temple, all of which are serene and tranquil and are arranged at the central axis of the cottage. There is an interesting winding corridor between the Grand Lobby and the Avenue of Poem. At the front of Du Fu Temple, there is a flowery path to the east and waterside handrails to the west. In addition, you will see a different scene behind the Temple, which features various styles of architecture. Throughout the Cottage, there are sun-shielded trees (aidia canthioides), a garden full of plum flowers that have no fear for the winter, a fragrant garden of orchid and dense woods of bamboo and pine. Poetic and picturesque in itself, the Cottage makes a great combination of manmade and natural landscapes.

Jinsha Site (Museum)

As a nominated and pending World Heritage Site, Jinsha Site is a National Important Heritage Protection Site, a National AAAA-grade Tourist Area, a National 1st Grade Museum and a National Archaeological Heritage Park. It covers an area of about 300,000 square metres and consists of a Heritage Pavilion, an Exhibition Pavilion, a Cultural Relics Protection Centre, Garden Area, and a Customer Reception Centre.

Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding

Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding uses landscaping techniques to simulate the wild environment where giant pandas live. With green coverage of 96%, the Base establishes an ecosystem suitable for giant pandas and many other rare wild animals. Permanent residents include more than 80 giant pandas as well as red pandas, black-necked cranes and white cranes.

Bar Street at Nine Eye Bridge

As one of the greatest gatherings of bars, Nine Eye Bridge Bar Street is a synonym for Chengdu’s nightlife. When the night falls, the whole street is lit up with nearly a hundred bars. Most of them are open-air but some of them also provide indoor sitting. Different sizes of space and styles are at your choice, with the smallest bar having only several desks. You may want to sit outside, drinking fine wine while appreciating the river view.

Wuhou Shrine

Dating back to 223 AD when the tomb of Liu Bei was built, Wuhou Shrine is the only temple in China worshipping an emperor and his courtiers at the same time. It is also the most famous monument in memory of Liu Bei, his chancellor Zhuge Liang and other heroes of Shu Han. It also serves as the most influential museum of the Three Kingdoms in China. The Temple was listed by the State Council as one of the first National Important Heritage Protection Sites in 1961 and one of the first National 1st Grade Museums in 2008. Dubbed the sacred place for the Three Kingdoms, Wuhou Shrine now covers 150,000 square metres, consisting of the Heritage Area of the Three Kingdoms (for cultural relics), the Western Area (for experiencing the culture of the Three Kingdoms) and the Folklore Area of Jinli (Jinli Street).
